Positive Behaviour Support Resources for supporting neurodivergent children, teens and adults.

What is Positive Behaviour Support?

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an evidence-based approach that focuses on understanding and addressing the reasons behind challenging behaviours. Rather than using punishment, PBS aims to teach and reinforce positive, appropriate behaviours through supportive strategies tailored to each individual.

It involves data collection, functional behaviour assessment, and proactive planning to reduce behaviours of concern and increase skills like communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction. The goal is to improve quality of life for the student and create a more inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
