'Desired behaviour' refers to the specific, positive actions that you want a student to demonstrate in place of challenging or disruptive behaviours. These are clearly defined, observable, and achievable behaviours that align with classroom expectations and support learning and social development.
For example, instead of shouting out, the desired behaviour might be "raising your hand before speaking." Identifying and reinforcing desired behaviours helps guide students toward more appropriate responses and encourages long-term positive change through positive behaviour support and consistent tracking.
